Funny story-for 2 months prior to Christmas my husband and I began putting together our daughters Santa gift. He built her a cubby off her bedroom that cut into the attic of our cape code. He insulated, dry-walled, painted pink, light up and carpeted. It took us that long because we only worked on it when she was at Nana and Granddad's.
We had HUGE dreams of the big reveal on Christmas morning and mapped out exactly how we were going to reveal the surprise. I filled the room the Talking Dora House and a million accessories (which I bought on Craig's list for dirt cheap). Well you can probably guess were this story is going, and your right.
On Christmas Eve, when celebrating with our families (24 adults 12 kids) the cubby door got opened and my daughter saw her surprise. Of course being 2 1/2 she had no idea what they had stumbled upon (behind actual furniture, in the corner of her room) and was delighted, I on the other hand was DEVASTATED!
Christmas morning she had no interest in sitting under the tree opening her clothes and book gifts when she new the grand daddy of all toys was upstairs. So we gave in and all played Dora.
Things couldn't be going any better around here. I'm now 29 weeks pregnant, as big as a house (actually measuring 35 weeks), and full of anticipation and excitement.
Speaking about house's we finished our Kitchen reno's for Christmas. Here is a before and after picture.
